Joyce Kitano

Joyce is a 3rd generation American of Japanese ancestry. She was raised in Hawaii and then in the Philippines as a Missionary Kid. She received a B.S. in Biology from Wheaton College and an M.A. in Missions with an emphasis in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) from Wheaton Graduate School. After teaching at the A/G Bible School in Singapore for several years, she came to Japan and began ministering in 1989.

Presently she is Director of Chi Alpha Campus Ministries in Japan, teaching at Central Bible College (Tokyo), serving on the National Youth Department and the World Missions Department, and speaking for youth camps and training seminars across Japan and overseas.


Favorite foods: Chicago stuffed pizza, eel sauce, mangos, steak, kakipi (Japanese rice crackers), natto (fermented soy beans)
Hobbies: singing gospel music, traveling, and anything to do with Japanese washi paper
